Cranleigh Ladies Hockey Club (CLHC) is a friendly ladies hockey club, established in 1976, with the ethos of encouraging all those who want to play hockey to come along and join in. It was set up by three friends who were frustrated by the lack of local facilities and the less flexible views the bigger clubs took to young, working mothers.

In its thirty years, CLHC has developed considerably, but the focus has remained firmly on encouraging all to take part in a fun and friendly environment. We run two ladies teams, who both play competitively in the Surrey Ladies Hockey League. We benefit from playing on the quality astroturf pitches at Cranleigh School and enjoy after-match teas at the Cranley Hotel (the local pub). Training takes place each Wednesday evening. Those who are starting out or who don’t wish to play competitive games are encouraged to join us at our training sessions for exercise and tips on how to play the game.

A number of our ladies (and their other halves) also play mixed hockey with Cranleigh Coqs. This is a social team, with fixtures arranged against other local mixed teams, with an emphasis very much on the social aspect of the game.
